On the cover: Holly Campbell Ambler and her dog, Ash, sail the family's vintage wooden Herreshoff 12 1/2 in the Fox Island Thorofare. Ambler's mother bought the boat and the two raced and sailed together for many years. Ambler has carried on the tradition with her daughters and the rest of her family.
