Bringing Out the Best at the 12th Annual Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show

Friday, June 27th 2014

ROCKLAND, Maine—The producers of the annual Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show are pleased to announce that Rockland’s scenic waterfront parks will again come alive during the second weekend of August, filled with beautiful boats, one-of-a-kind handcrafted products, and an eclectic mix of high-quality goods for life on the water and the shore. As always, the show will bring together the best of Maine and the region from across the creative spectrum; these fine craftspeople will showcase their many talents and display their wares to a discerning crowd of attendees from August 8 through 10, 2014. “This is a chance for everyone who loves the Maine coast and our magazine to meet many of the artisans they’ve read about in the pages of Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors and to see great Maine products first-hand,” said MBH&H Publisher John K. Hanson, Jr., adding, “This is the only show in Maine where people can see so many boats in the water all in one place.” The gathering of hundreds of exhibitors—perennial favorites and new talents alike—enables visitors to come to one location and board boats of all sizes, lounge in handcrafted furniture, admire artwork, try on jewelry and clothing, fine-tune engine specs, and compare sailboat gear—all in one weekend. Beautiful examples of Maine-built boats, from rowing craft and kayaks to sailboats and poweryachts, will be on display, as will bespoke furnishings, home wares, and marine gear. To round out life on the coast, there will be antiques, fine art, photography, and books. From children’s activities, live music, and Maine cooking to Sunday’s light-hearted 12th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials, the weekend is all about the creativity, the fun, and the lasting goods that bring out the best at home and on the water. NEW for 2014: Show highlights will include “The Genius of Herreshoff” tribute, with special boats on display for aficionados of elegant, traditional yacht design; the “Maine Made” Products Tent filled with top-quality Maine creations; and the new “Smart, Small Homes” area, dedicated to the art of living large within a small(er) envelope. Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors is very pleased to acknowledge the following sponsors: Awlgrip/Interlux, Bangor Savings Bank, Custom Float Services, Epifanes, Fixtures Designer Plumbing Showroom, Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors magazine, Maine Made, and US Harbors. The support of the City of Rockland, Sea Bags, Loyal Biscuit Company, and Bell’s Furry Friends Pet Photography is also much appreciated.
