The producers of the 2024 Maine Boat & Home Show have unveiled the new poster design for the annual celebration of boats and life on the coast. The poster features a painting by downeast Maine artist Philip Frey, who is known for his colorful and light-filled images of the coast.

As the largest of its kind north of Newport, Rhode Island, the Boat & Home show presents a wide range of boats, ranging from large and small, luxurious and down-to-earth, power and sail, displayed both on land and in the water. The show also boasts a plethora of activities for children and adults. As well as a variety of art, clothing, jewelry, live music, marine gear, and food, most of which will be in the many exhibits around the grounds.

The exhibit will be located in Buoy Park, adjacent to the Maine Boat & Home Show grounds, and open free to the public. Discover the historic and the new, the unique and the familiar, including birch bark canoes, peapods, knockabouts, and modern designs built with cutting-edge materials, including the ultra-modern 3D-printed boat 3Dirigo from the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center.

2020 Maine Boat & Home Show Cancelled in Response to Pandemic

Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Publisher John K. Hanson Jr. said the decision came after Maine Gov. Janet Mills cautioned Tuesday that large gatherings likely will continue to be prohibited in the state throughout the summer, and that visitors to Maine will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

Whether it was to look at a boat or to buy one (or just spend a nice day out on the waterfront), the Maine Boat & Home Show, on the Rockland waterfront August 9-11, was the place to be. The show is the largest of its kind north of Newport, Rhode Island, and this year, there were more than 100 craft, large and small, luxurious and down-to-earth, power and sail, displayed both on land and in the water. There was alse a host of activities for young and old, plus art, fine furniture, jewelry, live music, marine gear, and local food.

We would like to send a huge “THANK YOU!” to the City of Rockland and all its citizens for once again hosting the annual Maine Boat & Home Show during the second weekend of August. Thousands of people came to the show (and the city) from all over the state and New England, from all corners of the country, and even from other countries. We are grateful, as always, to everyone who helped to make it a success, and were thrilled to orchestrate the event, which was the 17th annual.

The Maine Boat & Home Show, August 9-11, 2019, in Rockland, Maine, has implemented a fleet of new initiatives this year as part of an ongoing effort to become a Zero Waste event. Show organizer John K. Hanson, Jr., said, "We've been moving for a long time toward a goal of being a low-impact event. Most recently, we've cut back on paper mailings, gone to digital ticketing, gotten rid of the plastic wristbands at the entry gates, and we've even asked our exhibitors to bring back their used plastic exhibitor badge holders. Every little bit counts. We've got reusable exhibitor lanyards too, thanks to Rock Harbor Brewing, and in the Awlgrip Exhibitor Lounge the water bottles are recyclable and returnable.

17th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials Field Announced

The producers of the annual Maine Boat & Home Show, August 9-11, on the waterfront in Rockland, Maine, have announced the field of competitors for the 2019 Running of the World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials. The trials will be held on Sunday morning, August 11, at 10:30 a.m. and are included in the price of an admission ticket. Show attendees are invited to watch from the seawall as the eager field of wannabe champions attempts to unseat two-time world champ Zola the Wonder Dog.

MB&H Show: New events, improved layout

The 17th annual Maine Boat & Home Show, to be held on the Rockland waterfront August 9-11, will feature an array of events and happenings in addition to the fleet of approximately 75 boats, large and small, power and sail, that will be on hand. Those works of floatable artistry will be complemented by an array of custom work by local and regional artisans and craftspeople. All told, some 175 vendors will be on site with their handcrafted bespoke wares.

Tickets and passes are now on sale to the Maine Boat & Home Show, the state's only in-water boat show and the largest north of Newport, Rhode Island. The event will be held August 9-11, 2019, on the waterfront in Rockland, Maine. Gates open at 10 a.m. daily.

Entries Sought for 17th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials

The anticipation is building for the 17th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials. Canines and their adoring people are busy writing application letters, posing for photographs, tailoring costumes, and honing talents for the trials, which will be held Sunday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m., as part of the Maine Boat & Home Show, August 9-11, on the waterfront in Rockland, Maine. Everyone is invited to join the fun: While preference will be given to dogs that work in a boatyard, crew on a boat, or direct operations of any kind on the waterfront (or think that they do), any well-behaved dog is eligible to apply. Extra points for originality!
