For art lovers who missed the recent Winslow Homer exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, described in detail by Carl Little in his March/April MBH&H’s story, “Winslow Homer’s Ways with Water,” you will get another chance to see works by the master this summer at the Portland Museum of Art. While Homer is known for his striking paintings and watercolors, in the 1880s, he took up etching to revisit some of his notable subjects.
The Portland exhibition, titled “Winslow Homer: Painter, Etcher," features etchings created at Homer’s studio on Prouts, Neck.
For information on the exhibit, which runs July 3 to Oct. 18, visit the museum’s website.
