New for 2025: Iconic Boats, Educational Seminars, On-Site Painters,
and Art Show Added to the Maine Boat & Home Show Lineup

A trio of Maine’s iconic boats will be among the many new and brokerage vessels filling the docks on the Rockland waterfront, and three exciting new features involving the arts and education will make their debut at the 2025 Maine Boat & Home Show, set to run Aug. 8-10 in the city’s Harbor Park.

Throughout the three-day exhibition, plein air artists will be on site to capture on canvas the excitement of the show and beauty of the working waterfront. Then on Sunday, the final day of the show, their work will be on display from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m., along with guest artist Steve Florimbi’s “Coming and Going,” used as this year’s show poster.

On Saturday, the show will present two seminars geared toward first-time boat owners. Industry experts will be on hand to discuss how to find the right boat, the buying process, insurance and finance, and other details such as storage, the cost of ownership and options for boater education. There will be a morning session for those who want to explore the coast by sail; in the afternoon, the focus will be on powerboats.

And on Friday, there will be demos and informative presentations on a range of topics from show exhibitors. Find the full education series schedule and details online at maineboats.com/boatshow.

“As we expand the on-site offerings for this year's Maine Boat & Home Show, we are so fortunate to have local en Plein Air artists joining us," said Kate Holden, show manager. "New for this year, we will host The Art Show at the Show Sunday morning and display the paintings created en Plein Air. This promises to be a fun, new event showcasing the creative work of local artists.”

Holden said she is equally excited to announce the boating seminars and demos. “Being able to include these educational opportunities adds incredible value for attendees who are interested in buying a boat or who want to learn more about various aspects of coastal living. And for our vendors, it’s a chance to spend more time with show visitors,” Holden said.

The 20th edition of the Maine Boat & Home Show—the largest in-water nautical celebration north of Newport, Rhode Island—will feature a wide assortment of watercraft, ranging from small, hand-crafted rowing boats to sailboats and larger power yachts. Iconic boats on display at the show’s outer dock will include the Maine Seacoast Mission’s island supply boat Sunbeam on Friday, the classic 12-Meter racing yacht Gleam on Saturday, and the schooner Harvey Gamage on Sunday.

Ashore, land and tent displays will also feature marine supplies, fine furnishings and home wares, art and jewelry, sustainable energy products, and more.

Throughout the show, food vendors will be on site, and there will be daily musical events as well as a fun area for kids.

The show will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more about the show, to review the full schedule of events, and to purchase tickets online visit maineboats.com/boatshow.
