Particulars: The Windowbox Dory is cedar planked with a mahogany stem and copper and brass fasteners. The design incorporates a "tombstone" transom (not visible here), which the builders envision will provide more room for "cargo" than would a double-ended layout.
"We designed this dory along traditional lines, but added extra capacity for payloads of vermiculite, potting soil, hyacinths, daffodils, and other flowering plants." the boat shop said. They added that "the cedar should hold up well to the elements--we wanted to keep the spring outfitting bills manageable for the average boat owner."
