“Living year-round on the downeast coast of Maine, I find that the visual palette never disappoints. The changing seasons, with their subtle and not-so-subtle nuances, regularly provide me with loads of visual entertainment. On a chilly winter walk in Sorrento, I witnessed a seagull overhead dropping a mussel shell. When it landed on a boulder the shell became a perfectly composed mirror image in my viewfinder of Mt. Desert Island’s mountains in the distance.” Leslie Harlow is a downeaster who owns Sullivan Harbor Farm Smokehouse and co-owns Ironbound Restaurant and Inn, both in Hancock. Her love of downeast Maine with all its quirks and rough beauty give her many inspirations with her camera phone.
