Short Ships Rowing Regatta, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
This 30-year-old fun and friendly race is open to all rowing and paddling craft and features a 3-mile inner harbor course. Racers compete for fun, prestige, and a variety of awards. Racers will start at the Atlantic Challenge pier, 643 Main Street, Rockland, row out to lighthouse, continue along the inside of the breakwater, and return to AC. Registration from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., skipper’s meeting at 11 a.m. The start of the race is at 12:00 p.m. (gigs start at 12:15 p.m.) Cost for participation is $15 per person. Non-profits and groups can expect a discount: racers pay $10 per person if there are at least 5 people on a crew. The 3rd Annual Camden International Film Festival brings a wide variety of international documentary films to audiences in venues throughout Midcoast Maine. It is both an exciting sports-adventure story and an intimate portrait of the two-man crew that explores masculinity, midlife and ambition.
