Born and raised on the coast of Maine, Alison grew up sailing the coast with her family and now tours the coast on a more intimate level in her sea kayak.

Alison constantly studies charts to find new places to explore. The first chart she created was to remember an amazing kayaking trip to Ireland. Alison has explored Alaska, Ireland, the slot canyons of Lake Powell, and the Rock Islands of Palau via kayak, but knows nothing beats what is in her own back yard. Alison asks, “Does it get any better than Down East?”

Alison started selling her work at age 14 when painted barrettes were all the rage. In college she graduated to hand-painted boxer shorts, which she wore as shorts. The crew of Young America also sported a line Alison designed in the defense of the cup in 1995.

Her latest project is depicting parts of the Maine Coast, and beyond, via bold vibrant colors and a little of her own whimsy. Alison's charts are a bold splash of color that will liven up any room in your home or cottage. ...dwell in the possibility of color...
