Tucked up along the quiet side of Camden Harbor you will find the salon of Etienne Perret, America's leading designer of colored diamond jewelry.

Etienne and his wife Connie moved to Camden in the 1970s. For 30 years they owned a full-service jewelry store selling a wide variety of designer jewelry. Then in 2000 they sold the store to focus on designing and making Etienne's colored diamond wedding and engagement ring designs.

Etienne Perret, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and the Gemological Institute of America, specializes in the use of diamonds that are not white. For hundreds of years the diamond industry promoted the colorless diamonds and kept the rare colored diamonds for themselves. If you have seen the gem collection at the Smithsonian you well know that diamonds come in all colors of the rainbow.

Today, using a variety of innovative processes including heat, pressure and electron bombardment, Etienne Perret is able to permanently turn colorless natural diamonds into a spectrum of colors—purple, violet, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, cognac, champagne, and black—for a fraction of the cost of natural color diamonds.
