Jonathan Minott builds and restores small wooden boats in the central Maine town of Dover-Foxcroft. All boats are traditionally built, carvel, lapstrake, or canvas covered. South Shore Boatworks is a small boat shop located in Halifax, Massachusetts, just west of Plymouth. Rockcoast Boatworks designs and builds high-quality downeast-style powerboats. The new company was created in 2008 by George Menezes, a 25-year veteran designer/builder. Observers of Maine boats will be very familiar with the successful designs by Menezes, who once headed product development for Sabre and Back Cove Yachts.

Ellis Boat Company is located in Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island.
